Will Europe use Israeli drones against refugees?
Europe’s coastal guards are examining whether Israel’s warplanes would be helpful tools in repressing refugees.
In September, the EU’s border management agency Frontex announced
the start of trial flights for drones in Italy, Greece and Portugal.
There was a major omission in the Frontex statement: the type of drones
being tested have been used previously to attack Gaza.
Elbit Selected to Provide Maritime UAS to the European Union Maritime Safety Agency
Elbit Systems announced on November 1st that it was awarded a framework contract to
provide maritime Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) patrol services to be
provided by the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) to countries in
the European Union. The contract that will be executed in cooperation
with CEiiA is for a two-year base period and two single year option
periods. If fully ordered, the total contract value is €59 million
(approximately $68 million).

Israeli Restrictions Add to Suffering of Gaza’s Cancer Patients
For the fourth time in two months, Nevin Abu El-Jidian failed to
cross the Erez checkpoint, which separates the Gaza Strip from Israel
and the West Bank. Israeli authorities asked her to come back again with
an updated radiograph of her breast cancer. “The officer told me I have
to go back to Gaza and take an updated one.” But, even then, passage
into Israel is not guaranteed, the officer told her.

refugees in Gaza since 1948 have been gathering in mass, unarmed
demonstrations about their political predicament and the ongoing effects
of the 12 year long Israeli siege.

OPCW Issues Fact-Finding Mission Reports on Chemical Weapons Use Allegations in Douma, Syria in 2018
THE HAGUE, Netherlands —6 July 2018—The Fact-Finding Mission (FFM) of the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), issued an interim report on the FFM’s investigation to date regarding the allegations of chemical weapons use in Douma, Syria on 7 April 2018.
The FFM’s activities in Douma included on-site visits to collect environmental samples, interviews with witnesses, data collection. In a neighbouring country, the FFM team gathered or received biological and environmental samples, and conducted witness interviews.
